>My Birthday Boy !

>

Happy Birthday JCP !  You are so special and we love you so much.
I can’t believe my sweet boy is six years old!  Here are just some of the things that make him so special……  his sense of humor, his wonderful kisses and hugs, the way he protects and looks out for his siblings, his take charge attitude and leadership qualities, his desire to always help with “projects”, so much of his Papa Mike that I see in him, his never ending questions, his love for family and friends, the way he can’t be still when he gets excited, the funny expressions he makes, how observent he is, the way he says girl “gurl”, his love of church and excitement over learning Bible verses and hiding them in his heart, his desire to be obedient ( and his tears of repentance when he is not)………..
I could go on and on but I will end with one recent “funny” he provided that left us in tears from laughing so hard (keep in mind it was MUCH funnier hearing it 1st hand and in his sweet voice and his intonation, but try to imagine anyway.
After Samuel was discharged from the hospital a few weeks ago we stopped at my parents house and picked up the rest of the kids on our way home.  Soon after we were all in the car my observant Jon Cole realized Samuel had a florescent band-aid on his left hand.  He asked what it was and I told him that there had been a needle in his hand (IV) and that the nurse had taken it out.  He gasped and said ” WOW,  I can’t believe we never noticed it !”  🙂   (like I said, it was much funnier in person>)
Less than a mile down the road from the previous “funny” he provided us with another…….. I told Samuel to tell them about the flavored gas that he got to breath before his surgery and Jon Cole quickly chimed in……”  GAS……I think I smell some now! ”  (we live near a town with a paper mill and it often provides us with less than rosey fragrances).
Thank you my son for keeping us laughing!  You are precious and I am blessed to be your mom!
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
(Psalms 127:3-5 ESV)
