It is after 8 am and Samuel is still asleep. He got a few hours of sleep in the night before last, before his vomiting started, and then has basically been asleep since 6 am yesterday, and is still sleeping. That’s alot of sleep! I’m so glad he rested well last night. He woke up around 4 am and wanted some water and then went back to sleep. Cole and I were very pleased that he didn’t vomit it back up. Hopefully when he wakes he will be feeling much better. Keep praying for him! Our day is just beginning, but I wanted to give you all an update. I will journal more tonight.
Samuel woke up around 8:30 and we gave him a bath and headed down for a little breakfast. He ate a few eggs and drank some water. I know eggs probably were the best for his stomach, but once he say them, there was no explaining that to him. We met the group at 9:30 and headed to a temple that is now a museum. There were some neat shops inside, so SK and I bought some Christmas gifts. Cole paid in one store and I paid in another. Later, when we met for the group photo, Dawn (in orange hat) gave Cole his credit card back. He had left it in the store and they just gave it to her, assuming we were together. Thank goodness we were, or that would have put a real damper on our shopping, since our two shopping days still lay ahead.
We came back to the hotel and after cole watched the end of a football game we went out for lunch. We ended up going to pizza hut. We ordered the same as when SK, Samuel & I ate at the one in Hunan. SK had pepperoni and Cole & I had green pepper and tomatoes. It was very good. Almost everyone else in the restaurant was eating the eel pizza. It’s amazing to me how different our taste buds obviousle are. Hopefully Samuel will adjust to our southern food easily. We walked around for a while looking around and then headed back to the hotel
I had to go to our guides room at 3 pm for a paperwork meeting. It lasted about 2 hours because everyone kept getting confused about which paper, where are we, what number…
Finally it was over and we relaxed in the room until 5:20 when we met for dinner. We went to a Thai restaurant called The Banana Leaf. The food was great and the entertainment was even better. Dad, you would have loved the dancing. I had a good partner, but he couldn’t hold a candle to you:) SK and Cole pulled out moves that I didn’t know they had. It was a lot of fun. Samuel seemed entertained watching us. He has been very lethargic today, as expected, but ate some and kept it down. Hopefully tomorrow will bring greater improvement. Thanks for lifting him/us up in prayer.
I have to give a shout out to Elizabeth! I hear you scored with a great shot at the soccer game! I wish I could have been there to see it. I love you!
Jon Cole, I know you had a great time spending the night with Nanny & Pappy. Tell them to give you a big hug and kiss for me!
